Laura Linney was one of the greatest American actors to emerge from the past. Her strong and vulnerable performances have made her a household name. Born to a well-known playwright's father but was raised by a single mom who made a living in the field of nursing, she was drawn to theatre when having summers spent with her father then pursuing acting studies, initially at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. In the two years following her graduation, she launched an Broadway career. The following year, she began her career in the world of television. Since then, she has appeared appearing in a variety of films, TV productions and stage shows. There were many awards she received throughout her career including the four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. While she has received numerous awards through the years, performing has always been her first love.
